Seven-tournament series named after new brand ambassador Darren Elias

The series is named after Darren Elias, a four-time World Poker Tour champion who is famously known as “End Boss” due to his consistent success in tournaments. In September, Elias joined the partypoker US network, which includes BetMGM Poker, as a brand ambassador.

Luke Staudenmaier, the Director of Poker at BetMGM, stated that Elias played a significant role in designing the series schedule.

Staudenmaier stated that throughout the development phase, they collaborated extensively with Darren, a renowned figure in the world of poker, to guarantee that the series catered to those commemorating the holiday weekend. They also ensured that the entire partypoker US network, including both recreational and competitive players, was taken into consideration while creating the series.

The End Boss Poker Series in Michigan offers buy-ins that vary from $215 to $1,060. The biggest buy-in is reserved for the Main Event, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 28. The Main Event is an eight-max no-limit hold’em tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000.

The series schedule includes seven events, featuring a pot-limit Omaha tournament, a progressive knockout bounty event, and a NLHE freezeout. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.

Three states, three End Boss BetMGM Poker Series for partypoker US network

Similar to PokerStars, which recently hosted separate series on its three US sites simultaneously, the partypoker US network plans to follow suit. They will be organizing the distinctive End Boss Poker Series on the same dates across Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Pennsylvania’s partypoker US network consists of BetMGM Poker PA and Borgata Poker PA. The End Boss Poker Series in this state will offer a guarantee of $230,000, surpassing the amount seen in the Michigan edition.

The partypoker US network in New Jersey consists of three sites, namely partypoker NJ, Borgata Poker NJ, and BetMGM Poker NJ. These sites share a common player pool. In total, the seven tournaments hosted in NJ will guarantee a prize pool of $315,000.

Similar to PokerStars, the partypoker US network sites currently lack a multi-state agreement among the various states’ sites. This implies that there is no capability to share player pools across states. Consequently, the three End Boss Poker Series events in MI, PA, and NJ will operate independently. In other words, participants will only compete against fellow players from their respective state.

The scheduling of these simultaneous series may indicate future intentions to organize multi-state tournament series, allowing players from different regions to compete together, once their pools can be shared.

End Boss taking place of monthly BetMGM Online Series

The End Boss Poker Series is set to take place on BetMGM Poker MI in late November, serving as a modified edition of the platform’s regular BetMGM Online Series. Since its inception in March 2021, the latter has been held every month.

In October, the latest BetMGM Online Series surpassed its total guarantees by awarding a grand total of over $288,000, surpassing the previous amount of $230,000.
