Circa Sportsbook Review
Circa Sportsbook Review
Disclaimer: Circa is currently not available in Michigan. This Circa Sportsbook review is based on Circa’s products in other markets and will be updated once Circa launches in Michigan.
Circa Sports claims to offer sports betting “the way it should be.” Naturally, we wanted to put this claim to the test ahead of it going live in Michigan. At this stage, we’re not sure if or when it will be available in the Great Lake State. However, we know CEO Derek Stevens, wants to take full advantage of state-regulated sports betting. So, based on that fact alone, we’re confident Circa will find its way to Michigan at some point.
Looking at what it currently does well in Nevada and Colorado, we found a variety of positives. Firstly, we’re confident that high rollers will have something to smile about. With low-vig bets and, as Circa puts it, “mile high” limits, there will plenty of scope to scoop some big prizes.
Secondly, the software is designed to be simple, accessible, and easy to use, regardless of how experienced you are. Add to this a proven record for offering outlandish bonuses (think complimentary trips to Las Vegas), secure software, and a neat payment system, and there’s a lot to look forward to.
Circa sportsbook welcome bonus
Before writing this Circa Sports review, we did some research. Our first task was registering an account with the recently launched Circa Colorado. We were able to browse the app and get a feel for what to expect when Circa Sports Michigan goes live. We didn’t see any promotions.
But fear not, we were scrolling through the site just weeks after it launched and, in the middle of a global pandemic, Circa made it clear there was a “lot more to come.” Indeed, if we’re going to speculate on what the Circa Sports welcome bonus might be, there are two things we know.
Firstly, other bookmakers likely to go live within the state are Bet365, DraftKings Sports, and FOX Bet. These operators each have opening offers that consist of bonus bets and bonus cash. For example, we know Bet365 gives newbies in other regions up to $100 as a welcome bonus. PokerStars’ partner, FoxBet Sports, has a sign-up bonus worth $1,000. Assuming these bonuses are available in Michigan, Circa will have to offer something similar in order to be competitive.
The second thing we know for sure is that Stevens has grand plans. As the man behind The D, Golden Gate Hotel, and Circa Casino & Resort in Las Vegas, he knows the value of attracting customers with promotions. Indeed, when Vegas officials announced that casinos could reopen following COVID-19 lockdowns, Stevens bought 2,000 airline tickets.
Offering them as prizes to customers in 28 US cities, Stevens wanted to create some buzz and get customers betting again. An offer as outlandish as this is more than a way of drumming up business — it’s a statement of intent. Stevens and Circa Sports are out to make waves. One of the best ways to do that is to come up with creative promos. Based on this, as well as the fact other Michigan sportsbooks will have a welcome bonus, we expect Circa to come up with an innovative new player promotion.

Signing up for new Circa sportsbook account
To use Circa Sports, you’ll need an account and some funds. To get those, you have to be located in Michigan and at least 21 years old. During the sign-up process, you’ll have to provide your name, age, location, and the last four digits of your SSN.
If these all check out, you’ll be granted access to the site. Then, when you’re ready to make a deposit, you’ll need to prove your identity by submitting an official form of government ID and enable the site’s geolocation software. Once your credentials have been verified, you can make a deposit and start using Circa Sports.
Other Circa promotions and bonus offers
What promotions are there at Circa Sports? Well, as it’s not live yet, we can’t say for sure. However, we’re confident the desire to offer something out of the norm will extend to the roster of regular rewards. In fact, we know Circa Nevada has already offered low-vig bets.
This promotion ran when the sportsbook first launched and gave customers the chance to place bets without any extra charges. In many ways, low-vig bets are similar to odds boosts or enhanced returns promotions because they give you a chance to win more for less. It would be great to see something similar at Circa Sportsbook Michigan, either as an opening offer or an ongoing promotion.
Looking out across the industry as a whole, we’d also expect to see industry standards such as reload bonuses, no-lose bets, cashback offers, and parlay boosts. Of course, Circa Sports might surprise us and chart its own course. Whichever direction it takes, there will be added value for regular real-money customers.
Circa sports app
Circa is optimized for all devices and designed to make the betting process as logical as possible. However, that’s not the extent of its capabilities. One of the best things is the amount of control you have over your sessions. At the top of the page, a timer tells you how long you’ve been logged into the site.
You can also call up your transaction and betting history. By going to your profile page, you can review all the deposits, withdrawals, and bets you’ve made over the course of a week, month, year, or longer. Doing this allows you to see where you’re doing well and where you’re not. Moreover, it’s another way to take control of your betting activity.
The final features of note are the responsible gaming tools. If you have a pre-set budget, Circa Sports allows you to limit the amount you can deposit by day, week, or month. Additionally, you can put limits on the amount you’re able to trade (i.e. spend/bet) over a given period. All of these features are hugely important in terms of responsible gaming, but also for the running of a successful online sportsbook.
How to download the Circa sportsbook app
Circa Sports isn’t live in Michigan right now. However, once it’s available, we’ll give you a direct link to download the app. By following our Circa Sports sign-up link, you’ll not only arrive safely and securely at the right site, you’ll have the potential to unlock a host of exclusive offers. So, once we update you with news of the launch, all you’ll need to do is use our Circa registration link to become a member of this promising online sportsbook.
Navigating Circasports.com
Circa Sports is a tale of two platforms. The desktop site has a dark color scheme and minimal features, while the mobile (iOS and Android) app is decked out in whites and blues. Personally, we prefer the aesthetics of the app over the desktop site. However, whichever medium you choose, the process of finding what you want will be the same.
During our Circa Sports review, we discovered the software was basic but effective. In this context, basic is positive. When you’re offering thousands of betting lines on dozens of sporting events each day, it pays to be basic. Overcomplicating things and adding in unnecessary features only serves to obscure the odds and make the betting process less efficient.
When you’re using the app, everything is sequential. You land on the homepage and click on “sports” to call up a menu of options. From there, you select a sport and that opens up a list of pre-event and in-play odds. Finally, once you’ve tapped the odds you like, the bet slip appears. At this point, you can select the type of bet you want (straight, parlay, teaser), input your stake, and lock it in.
Circa’s developers have basically created a system that walks you through the betting process. From the first step (finding a sport) to the last (confirming your bet), everything is laid out in a logical order and reveals itself each time you tap. We love this, as it means you can download the Circa Sports app and start betting, regardless of how experienced you are.
What sports are available at Circa?
With the world recovering from a global pandemic, Circa Colorado wasn’t offering odds on a full range of sports when we carried out our review. The things customers in Colorado could bet on were:
- Professional and college football
- Golf
- Soccer
We did note, however, that Circa said there is “more to come” in the future. This tells us that any service it launches in Michigan will feature the aforementioned sports and many more. Some of the most popular sports to bet on at US sites are:
- Basketball
- Baseball
- Boxing
- MMA
- Tennis
- Motorsports
- Ice hockey
- eSports
Bet types at Circa online sportsbook
One thing Circa Sports prides itself on is better betting limits. To cater to professional bettors, Circa has “mile high” limits that allow you to wager thousands on a single contest. Of course, we know that not everyone has that kind of money to spend.
Fortunately, Circa also caters to novices and casuals. For less than a dollar, you’ll be able to make the following types of bet when Circa goes live in Michigan:
- Standard bets, including moneyline, props, totals, and exotics
- Teaser bets
- Round robin bets
Banking at Circa sports betting
When Circa Sportsbook launches in Michigan, it will have to abide by strict rules of conduct with regards to safety and security. These rules will be most in force on the payments page. As well as SSL encryption technology keeping your personal details safe, Circa will only work with recognized processors.
For added security and convenience, players can enroll on Circa Play+. This scheme provides you with a prepaid card that allows you to have more control over your money. Firstly, you can load up the card with credits using a credit/debit card, Pay with My Bank or PayPal. Once you’ve added funds to the card, you can deposit them into your Circa account.
When it comes time to withdraw your money, you can simply use Play+ like a debit card. In other words, you don’t have to send your money to a third-party payment processor, wait a few days for the transaction to clear, and then spend your money. Instead, the funds can be made instantly available on your Play+ card and used everywhere Discover cards are accepted. For us, this is a real selling point.
Circa sports customer support
Circa Sports wants to be like a bookmaker of old. CEO Derek Stevens said he wants to go back to a time when betting shops knew the names of all of their customers. Now, in the modern age where online sportsbooks have thousands of customers, this isn’t easy. Indeed, it may not be easy for Circa Sports in the coming years.
However, even if every member of the team doesn’t know every player individually, the fact there’s a desire to offer a personal service is commendable. To ensure everyone gets the support they require, Circa has agents on hand 24/7 via email, live chat, and in-person. Things will be the same in Michigan and there will be a team of local customer service representatives on hand to help at all times.
History of Circa
Circa Sports was born out of a live casino resort in Las Vegas. Owned by brothers Derek and Greg Stevens, the casino (when complete) will stand on the site of the old Las Vegas Club at 18 Fremont Street. As well as what will become Circa Casino & Resort, the brothers own two other Vegas casinos: the Golden Gate Hotel and The D.
With the fall of PASPA opening up opportunities, the Stevens are set on taking their brand of sports betting across the US. As well as live sportsbooks, the company will launch online and mobile platforms in various states. As of July 2020, Circa Online Sports is available in Nevada and Colorado. As time passes and Michigan gains momentum as a sports betting state, look for Circa to join the likes of DraftKings, FOX Bet, and any other legal sports betting sites in the state.
