Lions-Bears NFL Odds: Week 4 Spread Moves More Than 2 Points For 0-3 Detroit At Chicago

The Detroit Lions lost in just about the most Lions-y way possible on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Well, there are 14 more games to go for the 0-3 Lions, and oddsmakers and players are expecting the Lions to show up 14 more times this season.

That reality continues with a Sunday game at the Chicago Bears, a game where oddsmakers first determined the Lions to be 5.5-point underdogs this summer. After falling to 0-3, the Lions were 6-point odds dogs as of Sunday night going into next weekend against the Bears at Soldier Field. By Monday morning, however, the line had moved down to 3.5 points.

Meanwhile, Michigan sports betting operators will need to weigh what to do with Detroit going forward, as the team settles in for a pair of NFC North road games against Chicago and then Minnesota on Oct. 10.

The Lions are the best at it, and Justin Tucker banging a 66-yard field goal off the crossbar and nailing home is a new one, knocking down Detroit in a 19-17 victory.

It’s also an NFL record for the future Hall of Fame kicker. The loss covered up an otherwise strong game for the Lions, who covered a 7.5-point spread in the loss, bottling up quarterback Lamar Jackson throughout much of the night in a losing effort.

The Lions are now 2-1 against the spread this season after an improbable backdoor cover against San Francisco in Week 1.

Chicago Bears, Justin Fields take 26-6 loss against Cleveland

Meanwhile, the Lions will have to deal with another mobile quarterback next Sunday against the Bears’ new starter, rookie Justin Fields of Ohio State.

Fields struggled in the first start of his NFL career, but could settle in at home against the division rivals from Detroit. Against Cleveland in the 26-6 loss, Fields finished 6-for-20 passing for 68 yards.

The Bears had just 47 total yards in the loss to Cleveland, but the Lions could be just what the rookie ordered early in his career.
