Another Week, Another Lopsided NFL Spread Against Detroit Lions In Week 11

Well, with a tie salvaged in Pennsylvania, the Detroit Lions are moving on to Ohio.

The Lions, already down one game against teams from the Buckeye State, will be heavy underdogs next Sunday at the Cleveland Browns in Week 11.

At 0-8-1, Detroit opened as 10.5-point underdogs for the Sunday game, according to PointsBet Sportsbook. The over/under for the game was 46.5 points, according to the book.

By Thursday morning, the line had ticked up to 11.5 points at Michigan sportsbook such as Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel MI Sportsbook and PointsBet.

Michigan online sportsbooks opened this line at 10 points in Cleveland’s favor during the summer.

The kickoff for the game, which is on Fox, is at 1 p.m. EST.

Lions improve to 0-8-1 with 16-16 tie at Pittsburgh

Oh, brother.

The Lions didn’t lose for the second straight weekend, coming off the bye week to “earn” a 16-all tie to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that was … somewhat indescribable.

Pittsburgh backup Mason Rudolph, stepping in for ill starter Ben Roethlisberger, and Jared Goff had a horrific showdown of ineptitude at quarterback, and the game mercifully ended after 10 minutes of scoreless overtime play.

There were some positives though, as the Lions rushed for 229 yards, led by D’Andre Swift running for 130.

The Lions are actually 5-4 against the spread this season, covering every other week. If that pattern holds, the Lions would not cover against Cleveland.

Before Sunday, the Lions were throttled in two of their past three games. On Oct. 17, Detroit lost 34-11 to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Then, after covering the spread in a 28-19 loss at the Los Angeles Rams, the Lions were dispatched by visiting Philadephia 44-6 on Oct. 31 before the bye week in Week 9.

Statuses of Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb up in the air

The Browns aren’t coming in good shape either.

Cleveland was hammered by the New England Patriots 45-7 on Sunday, falling to 5-5.

Making matters worse, quarterback Baker Mayfield was lost because of a knee injury. His status for Sunday will have a big impact on the betting numbers. Case Keenum filled in after Mayfield went down.

Running back Nick Chubb also missed the NE game after a positive COVID-19 test.

The Browns recently released mercurial wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He was then picked up by the Rams, who then lost Robert Woods for the season.
