On Wednesday, the Michigan Gaming Control Board announced that starting Thursday morning, Evolution has been granted permission to offer live dealer casino games from its Southfield studios.

On July 22, the initial live dealer casino games to be introduced will include blackjack, baccarat, and roulette. Further down the line, additional games might also be incorporated.

In Southfield, live casino games offer players the opportunity to witness a genuine dealer conducting a real game through a video feed, while they place their bets conveniently via the online platform.

Evolution, a game supplier, has formed partnerships with numerous online casino platforms in Michigan to offer their games. Playtech, another provider, has allocated space in Southfield for live casino games, but it is still awaiting authorization.

According to a news release by MGCB executive director Henry Williams, individuals can utilize either a mobile device or computer to engage in traditional casino games such as blackjack, baccarat, and roulette. The games are facilitated by a live dealer in real-time, with cameras capturing both the dealer and the gameplay. The live stream is then shared with remote players through the providers’ applications or websites.

The launch has been scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m., marking the six-month anniversary of the internet gaming launch in Michigan on January 22nd.

Many Michigan online casinos will add live dealer games

According to the MGCB’s announcement, various providers such as Barstool Casino, BetMGM Casino, BetRivers Casino, DraftKings Casino, FanDuel Casino, Golden Nugget Casino, Stars Casino, TwinSpires Casino, William Hill Casino, and WynnBET Casino will offer live dealer studio games. The regulator stated that each platform will make its own announcement regarding when they will be launching the games.

Evolution has been granted approval by the MGCB, having successfully met all of Michigan’s internet gaming regulatory prerequisites, which involved a thorough examination conducted by staff members of the gaming control board on-site.

How will live dealer games affect the MI online casino market?

In New Jersey, live casino games proved to be a game-changer. Golden Nugget, in particular, experienced substantial growth in revenue, establishing itself as a market leader in the nation’s top online casino state.

The extent of the impact that live dealer games will have in Michigan is still uncertain. BetMGM currently holds a dominant position in the thriving market. As of the recent release of June’s internet gaming numbers, a total of $483.1 million in revenue has been generated from online gaming, including online poker.

The state taxes have generated revenue of $85.2 million, the city of Detroit has collected $24.0 million in taxes and fees, and the tribal operators have earned $9.1 million.
