Michigan casino giveaways

With some potential casino patrons possibly deterred by the pandemic, getting players in the door at Michigan casinos has even more importance these days.

It’s long been part of the playbook for casinos to give away big-ticket items to draw customers inside.

Some casinos are stepping up the prizes and planning around special sports betting events to get folks to the gaming floors.

Here’s a look at what we’ve found around the state where casinos are spending some to hopefully gain some loyalty in the long run.

Four Winds giving away two SUVs in November

On Nov. 21, guests at all four Four Winds Casinos locations have a chance to drive home in one of two new Range Rover Evoques.

The compact SUVs will be given away at one or two of the locations, depending on if the winners come from the Dowagiac, Hartford, or New Buffalo locations in Michigan, or the South Bend casino in Indiana.

Players can get one entry per day in November by visiting a promotional kiosk, earning additional entries by playing slots or table games. You must be a W Players Club member to enter and win.

Two of the compact SUVs will be given away with drawings at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

In addition, the casino is giving $17,000 in cash or instant credit in hourly drawings beginning at noon. The drawings culminate with a 10 p.m. giveaway of $5,000 cash.

There are separate gift cards, instant credit, and cash drawings on Nov. 27.

One free entry is available each day at all four locations from Nov. 13 through drawing day.

Odawa has giveaways for Michigan vs. Michigan State

Petoskey’s Odawa Casino is trying to draw a crowd at the new sportsbook in Victories Sports & Entertainment this weekend.

The casino built giveaways around the noon football game between Michigan and Michigan State on Saturday.

The promotion is titled the “Grabbing the Lumberjack Giveaway” in honor of the rivalry game’s award, the Paul Bunyan Trophy.

The casino will draw a winner after each quarter to win a piece of sports memorabilia.

Players can earn entries by:

  • Placing any sportsbook bet.
  • Winning a table games bonus spin.
  • A craps pass line win.
  • Getting a straight in any Carnival Game.
  • Purchasing a drink in Victories.

The casino also has a Traeger Tailgater Giveaway on Saturday where players can win a grill every hour starting at 2 p.m.

The promotion culminates with a 6 p.m. giveaway of a Traeger Timberline Pellet Grill, $1,000 cash, and a $100 Plath’s Meats gift card.

Turtle Creek hosting giveaways at sportsbook

Also in northwest Michigan, Turtle Creek Casino in Williamsburg built a promotion around Saturday’s game.

The Onyx Sports Book by William Hill is giving away more than $1,500 in e-credits and Michigan and MSU memorabilia.

Drawings will be held for a Jabrill Peppers football and Jim Harbaugh mini-helmet for the Michigan fans. A Connor Cook mini-helmet and Plaxico Burress football is for the taking for MSU folks.
