Michigan Lottery Millionaires Scratchers October 2021

Apart from their shared Michigan residency, a woman from Genesee County and a man from Wayne County both achieved millionaire status through the Michigan Lottery by winning instant-win games.

Both winners, who won seven-figure prizes playing different scratcher games, claimed their rewards this week. Their luck adds to the already lucrative year for players.

The stories of the newest Michigan Lottery millionaires

Earlier this week, the man from Wayne County, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared a story about a premonition he had regarding his victory.

The 32-year-old winner expressed their love for playing the Lottery after claiming their $20 Millionaire Maker II prize at the Caboose Wine Shop on Holbrook St. in Hamtramck. Despite their wife’s skepticism, they had always believed in their ability to win big. One night, they had a dream about winning a substantial lottery prize. Without dwelling too much on it, they decided to visit the store the following day to purchase some tickets.

After entering my car, I began scratching the lottery tickets. Instantly, I noticed a match with the number ’04’ and assumed I had won $100. However, when I unveiled the symbol displaying ‘$1MIL’, I couldn’t believe my eyes; it felt like I was still in a dream. Without wasting a moment, I dialed my wife’s number to share the astonishing news with her!

His wife became a believer, thanks to him, and he decided to take the lump sum of $634,000. With this newfound wealth, he intends to buy a new car and home.

At approximately the same time, a woman from Genesee County also chose to receive a lump sum of equal value from a $10 Cash Game ticket. Unlike the previous individual, she did not possess any foresight regarding the victory.

Teamwork was what mattered to her the most.

“I asked the clerk at the store to select a few lottery tickets for me,” said the woman, who is 47 years old. “During my lunch break, I decided to scratch them before returning to work. To my astonishment, when I discovered that I had won $1 million, I was convinced that I must have misread the ticket. It was absolutely unbelievable!”

The mentioned store is Miller Point Mart located on Miller Road in Flint. After taking a vacation, her intention is to invest the remaining money. While she is not the only person in Michigan making such plans, she is among the most recent ones.

2021 continues creeping up toward new highs

In 2021, a total of 46 MI Lottery players have won prizes worth seven figures or more, marking a significant achievement. Surprisingly, this count is only two wins away from reaching the total number of such wins in 2020, even with more than two months remaining in the year.

Despite the progress made so far, this year still needs to surpass the record set in 2019 for the number of winners. In 2019, a total of 57 winners were recorded. As of now, with the year being 78.6% complete, 2021 is slightly ahead of that record number, reaching 80.7% towards the target of 57 winners.

However, for individuals like these, records and targets hold little significance. They find joy in simply being part of the crowd, regardless of its size.
