(UPDATE: Pennsylvania broke Michigan’s record Tuesday afternoon.)

Michigan online casinos set a new national monthly revenue record Tuesday, reporting $171.8 million in revenue for March. It was short-lived, however, as Pennsylvania online casinos reported $181.5 million in revenue later in the day.

Both totals bested the previous record of $166.9 million, set by Pennsylvania online casinos in December. Michigan’s previous high was $153.7 million in January. This year’s Michigan number was also a 30.4% increase over March 2022.

Along with the historic numbers within the month, March’s total pushed Michigan online casinos over $3 billion in all-time revenue.

“Michigan online casinos have set a national record for revenue in a month, continuing a trend of extraordinary growth,” said Playinmichigan lead analyst Paul Costanzo. “The state’s 15 online casinos have now, collectively, passed the $3 billion mark for all-time revenue, and on their current pace, should hit $4 billion before the year is up.”

Michigan crosses $3 billion in online casino revenue

In March, Michigan surpassed $3 billion in all-time online casino revenue.

Michigan sat at $2,998,317,099 at the end of February, so likely needed just a few days in March to hit the milestone. Michigan now has $3,170,147,820 in all-time online casino revenue.

It took 27 months for Michigan to hit this revenue milestone. Comparatively, Pennsylvania took 38 months (August 2022), while New Jersey needed 91 months (May 2021) to get to $3 billion.

Seven Michigan online casinos set monthly records

To have a new monthly record by such a wide margin, many Michigan online casino operators needed record months.

  • FanDuel Casino MI: $34.2 million
  • DraftKings Casino MI: $31.6 million
