PokerStars MISCOOP Schedule April 2021

PokerStars Michigan looks to continue its hot start with the first Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker (MISCOOP), coming May 8-24 on PokerStars MI.

The series will feature a whopping 120 tournaments, with $2 million in total guaranteed prize pools. Much like the ongoing PASCOOP on PokerStars’ site in Pennsylvania, there will be 40 distinct events, each with three “tiers,” or buy-in levels: “High,” “Medium” and “Low.

3 buy-in levels, 120 tourneys, $200K guaranteed Main Event

The PokerStars MISCOOP schedule follows other details of its Pennsylvania counterpart, including culminating with two-day Main Events in all three tiers May 23-24. The “High” Main Event will have a $300 buy-in and a $200,000 guarantee. Those levels are the same as PASCOOP.

Other associated details mimic the PASCOOP formula as well, including PokerStars MI offering copious MISCOOP satellites and freerolls.

Second Chance Freerolls will enable players who bust shy of the cash in MISCOOP events to recuperate their losses. Any player eliminated without reaching the money will receive free entry into the next day’s Second Chance Freeroll. In those events, $1,000 worth of MISCOOP tournament tickets will be up for grabs.

There will also be a MISCOOP Depositor Freeroll on May 23, the day of the Main Event.

Players who deposit $30 or more between now and May 23 using the bonus code “MISCOOP” receive entry into the tournament. The top 50 finishers in the Depositor Freeroll will then win entry into the $300 “High” Main Event later that day. Do the math, and PokerStars MI is donating $15,000 worth of tournament tickets.

Players can win entry into the Main Event through special $3 Spin & Go’s as well. Those are running from now through May 23.

PokerStars MI will additionally feature an ongoing MISCOOP Leaderboard throughout the series. Players will earn points for cashing in respective events. A total of $10,000 will be awarded to the top 30 finishers, with $3,000 going to the player finishing first.

Series follows big MICOOP and Michigan Classic

PokerStars MI hopes to build on momentum created by other series and events since the site’s late-January launch.

The first Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP) took place in late February and early March. The 60-event series originally featured $1 million worth of guarantees. However, large fields early on encouraged PokerStars to increase guarantees for later events.

Ultimately, MICOOP events’ guarantees added up to almost $1.43 million. But turnouts continued to create even bigger prize pools, and ultimately players won more than $2.2 million in the series.

Like the MISCOOP “High” Main Event, the MICOOP Main was also a $300 buy-in tournament. With 1,284 total entries, that event’s prize pool was nearly $360,000.

That wasn’t the largest tournament in PokerStars MI’s short history, however. In early April, the site hosted its first Michigan Classic, another $300 tournament that boasted a $500,000 guarantee. The 1,551 total entries was 235 shy of what was needed to meet the guarantee. That meant an overlay of about $65,000.

The 120-event PASCOOP in Pennsylvania has done well thus far, with prize pools routinely exceeding guarantees. A very similar PokerStars MISCOOP schedule will provide another apples-to-apples comparison of how PokerStars’ sites are doing in PA and MI.
