WSOP Gold Rings and Tournament of Champions seats up for grabs

Online poker players in Michigan will have the chance to win a prestigious WSOP Circuit gold ring, just like their counterparts in live tournaments. The gold ring is widely recognized as one of the most iconic prizes in the poker community and will be up for grabs every night.

All winners of the WSOP Michigan Online Circuit Series will gain automatic qualification for the exclusive “Tournament of Champions” $1 million freeroll tournament. This prestigious event is exclusively available for winners of both live and online circuit tournaments. Taking place on July 18th, it serves as the grand finale of the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Building on success of April’s WSOP MI Online Circuit

Less than two months after WSOP MI opened for business, May’s WSOP MI Circuit Series aims to emulate the success of last month’s inaugural circuit series.

Similar to the forthcoming series, April’s series also offers a guaranteed total prize pool of $510,000. However, it features a distinct lineup of events. These 12 events collectively generated an impressive $824,653 in prize money, surpassing the promised amount by over 61%.

When will interstate poker come to Michigan?

Less than two weeks after the launch of WSOP MI, Michigan became a part of the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) alongside Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware on April 6.

It was only a matter of time before such news would arise, especially considering that Michigan online poker was launched in January 2021 with state legislation that allowed for potential expansion across state lines right from the start.

However exciting it may be to join the MSIGA, the state will continue to be ring-fenced and this will persist until the Michigan Gaming Control Board enforces further licensing requirements.

Once online poker sites in Michigan successfully resolve all their matters, players across all participating states are bound to experience considerable advantages. With a population of nearly 10 million, Michigan will substantially enhance the existing player pool. In comparison, the combined populations of New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware amount to approximately 13 million individuals.
