PokerStars Michigan 25 Days of Tournaments

Forget the 12 days of Christmas. Pokerstars Michigan is more than doubling that timeline with a bundle of holiday tournaments this December.

Starting early next week, players at the PokerStars clients in Michigan, along with New Jersey and Pennsylvania, will be playing in the 25 Days of Tournaments series.

You can sign up for PokerStars right below this paragraph, if you’re a new player, or read on for the details of this unique month of events if you’re a returning user.

How the holiday tournaments will work

The 25 Days of Tournaments theme will begin on Monday, Dec. 6, at PokerStars Michigan and across the PokerStars network and run through Thursday, Dec. 30. If you’ve seen advent calendars made for religious purposes, or for more commercial hooks such as beer, wine or even candy, you’ll quickly catch on to the concept.

Each day, a new tournament not already listed on the schedule will appear for players in the PokerStars client. You can check at 9 p.m. ET the night before each event to find out the style of tournament to be played the following day (it’ll be a surprise!).

All tournaments will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and feature two levels of play: one at a $50 buy-in along with a $10 buy-in version. The goal, according to PokerStars, is to allow Michigan online poker players of different levels and involvement to get in on the action.

Additionally, any player who takes part in a day’s tournament has a chance to win other tournament tickets, Spin & Go tickets, and opportunities for daily $100 freerolls and weekly $1,000 freerolls. Those giveaways will occur via PokerStars Chest drops.

Nimbler tournaments catching on at PokerStars Michigan

This smaller, but more voluminous, tournament schedule is in line with what PokerStars tried last month in Michigan and other states, with its Fall Fest 50/50 series offering 50 tournaments, each at a $50 buy-in.

The guarantees varied, totaling $507,000. But Michigan poker players ultimately won $618,098 in Fall Fest 50/50 events, and 42 of the 50 events attracted large enough fields to exceed their guarantees.

The eight-handed no-limit hold ’em Main Event had a $50,000 guarantee and drew 1,172 entries to make a prize pool of $53,326.
