We all know the saying: Michigan has it all. From endless beaches for hot summers to vast snowmobile playfields in winter, luscious springtime flowers and of course, the changing leaves of fall, and so on.
What don’t we have? A team in the Super Bowl. But that doesn’t mean residents can’t incorporate Michigan into the big day when Super Bowl LVI kicks off Feb. 13 in Los Angeles.
It’s all about the food! Michigan hosts many choices for locally made food and we got ya covered, from appetizers to dessert. Our non-exhaustive list can complete the menu, or at least give it a solidly-Michigan foundation.

Kick off the party properly with appetizers, snacks
Better Made Snack Foods
From potato chips to potato sticks to pork rinds and popcorn, the Detroit-born Better Made has something for everyone. Widely available at most groceries and gas stations, party hosts can also order in bulk straight from the company.
Great Lakes Potato Chip Co.
These kettle-cooked chips come with clothes on! Well, not like sweaters, but this Traverse City-based company leaves the skin on their potatoes (that mostly come from Michigan) to make these yummy snacks. Buy online from the source or find them at Meijer, Spartan stores and Sam’s Club.
Williams Cheese
Everybody loves cheese – the basis for the array of spreads available from Williams Cheese, based out of Linwood, Mich. The company sells Colby, cheddar and Swiss cheeses along with six spreads – we recommend the original horseradish. Mostly sold at Meijer, cheese-lovers can also buy from the Linwood location.

Detroit Coney Dogs
Listen, we don’t wanna start any fights. We aren’t advocating for any one Coney or recipe. We simply offer a couple choices where one can buy Michigan-made hot dogs and beef to make the chili. Dearborn Brand has the dogs, condiments and more. Buy at its retail spots in Dearborn and Roseville, most grocery stores or directly from the company. The Flint-based Koegel’s sells more than 60 products, including the dogs to base your Coneys and it’s “chili chub” to make the sauce. Find their products at most grocery stores and online.
Pizza
If there’s anything a majority of Earthly beings can agree on, it’s that pizza really is the perfect food. We’d be remiss to not suggest the origin of the Detroit-style pizza, Buddy’s! Born in Detroit, there are now locations now across the state from Portage to Warren to Grand Rapids and more. Click here to find the closest to your party headquarters. Have you decided to allow mini football fans? We suggest Little Caesars, which you’ve probably heard of before, unlike the city of its original locale: Garden City. Visit the site to find your shop.
Sandwiches
Founded in St. Clair Shores in 1968, Tubby’s Sub Shop offers sandwiches longer than the Detroit Lions playoff drought to fit any party size! Visit the site to check out the catering menu and make sure to do it at least 24 hours in advance.
We also like these gems, but make sure to call ahead for party-planning. Reach Mati’s Deli in Dearborn at (313) 277-3253. Mudgie’s Deli, the creation of Greg Mudge, who died too early last September, can be reached at (313) 961-2000. Stack’s Deli of Belleville is at (734) 697-1823. They serve subs, chicken and pizza, too.
The fixins’
McClure’s, of Brooklyn and Detroit, sells a range of goodies, including potato chips, pickles, sauerkraut, relish, Bloody Mary mix and more. Find it at specialty shops like Westborn Market or shop at the source.
Vlasic also sells a variety, including pickles, relish and more. Born in Imlay City, find Vlasic products at most major grocery chains.
Keep the drinks flowing
Faygo
Classics gonna classic, so of course we suggest Faygo for the basis of your drink menu. The company, born in Detroit nearly 115 years ago, offers more than 50 flavors of the delicious elixir that is called pop and not soda. Buy it at most Michigan gas stations, Walgreens or from faygo.com.
The spirits
Breweries, distilleries and wineries exist in delicious abundance in our fair Mitten State. We would never want to hurt feelings, especially while drinking, so here are three sites to lead those who imbibe to the state’s luscious offerings. Remember to drink safely!

Sweets
From bumpy cake to chocolate topping to caramels so good your Grandma will stash them in her purse, the Detroit-original Sanders has the sweet tooth covered. Find products at most Michigan stores or buy from the store. Pro tip: Some fans may want to order something extra for the day after, you know, Feb. 14.
Coffee
Coffee always pairs perfectly with desserts. Detroit Bold sells a yummy variety at Meijer, some specialty shops and online.
