Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel is getting an upgrade in the near future.

Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos announced Monday it will begin major hotel renovations at Turtle Creek beginning Sept. 6.

The 10-week renovation project is scheduled to be completed by mid-November.

Turtle Creek hotel renovation plans

Turtle Creek’s renovation will be an update to its hotel, with a facelift to all 137 guest rooms.

The rooms and suites will be upgraded with modern amenities and designed with Native American-accented interiors.

Every surface in the hotel rooms will be redesigned, and microwaves and refrigerators will be added to the list of amenities.

The renovations of the rooms and suites will be under the creative direction of the casino and hotel staff, along with Grand Rapids-based first Fuller Design.

Turtle Creek’s lobby will also be updated to include three front desk portals and an open-air lounge. It will also include a Creek Boutique that will offer branding merchandise along with travel and convenience items.

“We look forward to showcasing the new look to our guests,” Johnny Barrientoz, General Manager of Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, said. “We work hard to not only offer our guests the very best in all we do, but continuously strive to exceed their expectations. From the addition of soaker tubs in the suites to the luxury beds and linens, this renovation will continue to keep us at the forefront in Michigan gaming and accommodations.”

Turtle Creek Casino still open during renovation

For frequent guests of Turtle Creek Casino, don’t worry, the casino floors will still be open during this 10-week project.

Though the hotel will be closed, guests will be directed to the sister property. That is Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, a five-minute shuttle ride away.

Officials expect the project to be completed in 10 weeks, which would call for an unveiling in mid-November.
