One could argue there weren’t many winners last week when the winless New York Jets squared off against the winless Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football.

Well, maybe Colorado would argue differently.

But for bettors who took advantage of the weekly FanDuel Sportsbook odds boost at MotorCity Casino, it was another victory. And the odds boost continues in NFL Week 5.

Thursday NFL odds boosts at the downtown Detroit sportsbook are 4-0 this season for those who have taken advantage.

When online sports betting launches soon in Michigan, bettors will be inundated with similar offers, in addition to free bets. These retail sportsbook promos are just a sampling of what’s to come.

FanDuel keeps TNF odds boosts perfect

This week’s Thursday odds boost for the Tampa BayChicago game is for both teams to score at least one touchdown in each half. The +205 odds are boosted to +260.

Last week’s MotorCity FanDuel odds boost adjusted a two-bet parlay of Denver and the Jets to both score 15 or more points.

Players who made their way to MotorCity to place the bet had the +104 odds boosted to +140.

Each player can only make one bet, and there is a $200 max bet.

NFL Week 5 odds boost very similar to Week 3

That same format was in place for Week 3 when Jacksonville played Miami. That bet paid off at +200, boosted from +142.

In the season opener, the boosted bet had Patrick Mahomes throwing three or more touchdowns and leading Kansas City to victory against Houston. The regular +154 odds paid out at +250.

In Week 2, Cincinnati and Cleveland needed to score more than 9.5 points in the first quarter with the Browns winning in the end. That +169 bet boosted to +250.

Little River, Greektown lure bettors with free contests

MotorCity does not have the promo market cornered for retail sportsbooks.

Across town, Greektown Casino has a Future Frenzy contest for free Super Bowl futures bets. Slots and table games players drawn randomly on NFL game days receive $25 in free bets. Greektown also gives out $50 in bonus play.

Across the state, Little River Casino in Manistee has an office-pool type of promotion for players to pick football winners.

The River Rock Sportsbook & Lounge “Pick The Winners” contest boasts more than $12,000 in Rivers credits available this football season. Players have to come to Little River and pick NFL game winners each week from Tuesday until Thursday.

Expect odds boosts, free bets with online sports betting, too

When online sportsbooks launch in Michigan, players should have a nice market of freebies of which to take advantage. That launch is set for later this year, possibly around Thanksgiving.

You only have to look at what’s available in other states with legal online sports betting to see what the regulated market has in store for Michigan.

Here is just a sampling of what’s on tap for Michigan bettors:

  • No FanDuel Sportsbook promo code is required for the Same Game Parlay; a simple risk-free bet on the app. Place a same game parlay bet on any NFL Week 5 game. If you don’t win, your bet is refunded up to $10.
  • PointsBet is offering an “On the House Booster” to Illinois players this week, essentially a free winning bet. The $25 maximum bet wins if the Bears keep it within 86 points Thursday night against Tampa Bay.
  • DraftKings has a TNF Primetime Prop for the Bears-Buccaneers game. Bet on which player will score the first touchdown and get a refund of your bet if he scores anytime. The max bet is $20.

The point is, for Michigan sports fans, the retail sportsbooks are where all the buzz is at right now. But remember, it’s only going to get better.
